Passed away peacefully on 6 September 2026, in his 85th year.
Eldest son of the late Henry and Kathleen Diedrichs, cherished brother and brother-in-law of Russell and Trina, Bill and Lyndel, and Joy and Pierre, much-loved uncle to Libby, Lauren, Candice, Lane, Chantal, Alex, and Julien, and good friend of Ben. Warren’s great love was his farm, The Station, where he spent much of his life with his faithful dog Shilo by his side. The farm was his home, his passion and a place he truly loved. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Allen Bryant Care Home for the exceptional care, kindness and compassion they showed him. Our sincere thanks also to the team at Grey Hospital for their care of Warren. Warren will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A memorial service for Warren will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 131 Kaniere Road, Hokitika, on Saturday, 12 September at 1.00pm.

My love to all the family. Warren was my age and we enjoyed time together both in Hokitika and in London when he visited. Last time was when we were in Hokitika for my mother’s funeral and Kath and he came to the Southland Hotel where we were staying in 1996. I always enjoyed my visits to the homestead as a child when Aunt Millie was alive and played the pianola. Warren was a gentle soul. May he find joy in heaven.
To the Diedrich family. Sorry to hear about Warren. I have many fond memories of you all on the Coast. I know he will be missed.

We were in the Westport congregation and enjoyed Warren’s talks and his company after, over lunch.
