Peter Henry Thompson QFSM

On Sunday July 16, 2023, aged 93 years.  Loved husband of the late Dianne and much loved father and father-in-law of Sally and Brian Woolhouse, Paul (Strangles) Thompson, Wayne and Sylvia Thompson, Louise Thompson and Mark Cowan, Julie and the late Richard Penrose, and Tony and Margot Thompson.  Loved grandfather “Pete” of Mel and Kev; Mark and Sara; Katie and Chris; Megan; Jamie; Lachlan and Isaac and his 12 great-grandchildren.  Loved brother of the late Mike and Joan Thompson and a loved cousin and uncle.  Messages to the Thompson Family, 100 Gibson Quay, Hokitika 7810 or may be left on Peter’s tribute page at www.thompsonfd.co.nz  A service in celebration of Peter’s life, will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Stafford Street, Hokitika, on Thursday July 20, commencing at 1.30pm.  Following the service, Peter will be laid to rest with his wife Dianne, in the Lawn Section of the Hokitika Cemetery.  

Members of the New Zealand Fire Service & Fire and Emergency New Zealand, both serving and retired, are requested to attend the funeral of Gold Star Member, Retired CFO Peter Thompson QFSM, Hokitika Volunteer Fire Brigade, 1948 – 1983. The service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Stafford Street, Hokitika, Thursday July 20 commencing at 1.30pm.  Burial in the Hokitika Cemetery to follow.  Serving members, full undress uniform with caps please.
