A true son of South Westland who welcomed us to HariHari in 1973 when we moved onto our farm on the La Fontaine. We enjoyed along with Seddon Adamson and Charlie Glass the induction into the the the history of Hari Hari.We shared over the years our love of Rugby sold him white bait and came to enjoy his love of Hari Hari his warm smile and his engagement in a good old chat with a beer in hand.Scared him witless in a jet boat trip down the Porerua which he was still laughing about a week later. Now time to say goodbye to a man I respected a man I never heard say a bad word and man who leaves behind Daughters who epitomize the father.Good bye Neville a genuine Sth Westland man

So sad to read this. Live and hugs to his girls, they’ve lost their steady rock.
Neville was an amazing guy. Always had time for people.
Even though we only visit H H once a year now, Neville always stopped for a chat.
I remember, as did he, us kids would take an empty Fanta bottle into the shop get 4cents for it, buy sone lollies, then Neville would put it out the back of the shop. Then another kid would get the same bottle and do the same thing. As kids we thought we were getting away with it, but Neville was on to us all the time. He thought it was so funny.
RIP Neville. One of the best.

Today I must say good bye, listen to the stories and the accolades of a life well lived. But for me I have lost a true friend, honest and dependable, a family member that has been there for me through the good times and the bad. The person I shared my life with for the last 30 odd years, I will miss him terribly, and as the dust will blow over the well worn track from his place to mine, a part of my heart goes with him as he starts a new adventure in another place and time. Good bye my friend, love you always. Linda

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Robyn, Michelle, kelly-Ann and all their Families to pay tribute to Neville’s Passing. One
of the great icons and identity of Hari Hari and South Westland. May i say we were “THE LADS” as we were in the early years growing up, from primary school, Grey high school, farming, Our fathers cars, dances, horse racing, whitebaiting, athletics, indoor basketball Rugby, the pub and what went on and much more of harmless mischief from us . Brian Searle, Tony Ford, Basil Ford, Tony Woodley, Keith Houston, Ronny Norris, myself to name a few. 1959-60, a new hit was released sung by Johnny Horton was on Nevilles mind. “The Battle Of New Orleans”. He would encourage us to sing it on the way home from dances. Admittedly you would need earmuffs, I have never forgot that Haha. With genuine respect i say goodbye to a true gentleman, an old friend of the past. Thank you for the many memories in hand. Rest in peace Neville. Omega my friend.
