Passed away peacefully in Christchurch Hospital on June 1, 2026, aged 92.
Dearly loved son of the late Rudge and Kath, brother of Phil, and Jo, husband of the late Erina then beloved partner of the late Catherine, wonderful father to Danielle, Kerry, Peter, Juliet, and Michael, father-in-law to Nigel, Davey, Tarek, and Fiona, and treasured granddad of Benkai, Cleo, Eddy, Blake, Jamal, Lyla, Aisha, Jackson, and Remy.
Brian was an avid historian and passionate guardian of West Coast heritage. His knowledge and curiosity for history enriched the community and sparked many memorable conversations. A service for Brian will be held in the Blackball Workingman’s Club 19 Hart Street, Blackball, on Monday, June 8, at 1.30 pm, followed by interment in the Blackball Cemetery.
