When I arrived in Hokitika as a single mum with 2 children. John took good care of me & openly shared(gave) items to me. He was warm & friendly & so very kind to me. This I never forgot & if he came to my garage sales or stalls at the markets I always cut him a good deal. Although he would growl at me for doing that, I did it anyways. You will be missed in our community John. Many condolences to your whānau.
