Charlotte Emma Lyes (nee Reynish)

Of Hokitika, Emma slipped away quietly in her sleep on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the company of her family, just short of her 94th birthday. Loved wife of the late Kevin, cherished mother and friend of Kay and Vaughan, David, Rex, Andrew and their partners, adored grandma of Morgan, Alicia, Steph, Timothy, Amy, Susannah, Tessa, Lucas, great grandma of Max, Devon, Karla, Evelyn, Logan, Katrina, Sophie, Wolfie, and Navy, treasured sister of David (UK), and the late Sue, Betty, June, Dorothy, George, and Johnny, adored by all her nieces and nephews, Emma was also a trusted and respected friend and colleague of many. In accordance with Emma’s wishes a private family service has been held.

    So sorry to hear this sad news. Emma was a teacher of mine many years ago at St Mary’s school. I would often see her out & about in Hokitika & she would always give me a lovely smile.
