Charles James (Charlie) Bedford. No 597179.

December 16, 2023

Peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023, aged 85 years.  Loved husband of Gloria, and the late Jean, loved father of Shayne, special friend and father of Terry, loved father-in-law of Lorraine, and Wendy-Ann, cherished grandfather of Dylan, Skyla, and Tycen.  A loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.  A get together to farewell Charlie will be held in the Hokitika RSA, Sewell Street, Hokitika, on Wednesday December 20, at 1.00pm.  All welcome for a story and a drink.  Messages to 106 Brickfield Road, Blue Spur, Hokitika 7882, or can be left on Charlie’s Tribute page at www.thompsonfd.co.nz.

Members of the Hokitika-Westland RSA are requested to attend the get together to farewell the late Charles James (Charlie) Bedford. No 597179. In the Hokitika RSA Rooms, on Wednesday, December 20, commencing at 1300hrs.

        Really sad to hear this news. Charlie was a big part of the st John health shuttle team for a long time. We enjoyed his company and his veried stories about his life his st John clients all missed him when he retired and often asked how he was doing.
        As team Leader for the Greymouth/Hokitika st John health shuttle I would like to extend my teams heart felt condolences to all of Charlie’s famiy

      Hokitika working men’s club Charlie dressed up like Santa for the children’s Christmas party ….Keith Griffiths announced ” here’s the man that comes down the chimney” ..my then 4 year old yelled ” um nope he’s the man the cleans them” ….never seen charlie laugh so much …great memories… condolences to Family
