Peacefully at Te Nikau Grey Hospital on July 24, 2026. In his 96th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Norma, loved father and father-in-law of Allanah and Kevin Rasmussen, Tony and Karen Fearn (all of Hokitika), Margaret and the late James Robinson (Kumara Junction), loved pop of his 8 grandchildren and poppy of his 18 great grandchildren, loved brother and brother-in-law of Ronnie and Carol, Dawn and Jack (deceased), the late Ted and Ivy, Stan and Agnes, Colin and Margaret, and Milly. A service to celebrate Shorty’s life will be held in the All Saints Church, 57 Bealey Street, Hokitika, on Tuesday July 28, at 1.00pm. Following the service Allan will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Norma at the Hokitika Cemetery.

Another cousin passing away on us. There were 27 first cousins when I was 5 but sadly they are disappearing to join the angels. They will have a great Gardner in his new home and Normy will be happy to see him again. My thoughts are with his family & friends.
