Matthew (Matt) John Syron

Passed away peacefully on 23 October 2018 at Kahurangi Dementia Unit, Greymouth, surrounded by family. Aged 80 years old. Loving husband of Lesley for 56 years. Loving father and father in law of Trish and Alan, Griff and Gina, Maria, and Louise and Henric. Cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Anna, Georgia, Angus, Bella, Lucy, George, Ella, Lydia, Hunter and Cassidy.

A service to celebrate Matt’s life will be held in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Seaview Hokitika on Friday October 26 at 1:00pm, followed by burial in the Hokitika cemetery.

Ohhhh I am so sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. He was such a lovely man. I have so many wonderful memories of his quiet gentle ways. He will be so missed by everyone.
Sadly I cannot be with you to celebrate his life.

Matt was a great father in-law to me who welcomed me to the Syron family with open arms. He even taught this city boy a thing or two about farming and the great west coast way. My memories of Matt will be cherished, he shall missed dearly.
