Dear Aunty Nolly & Co
I could not let Uncle Joseph’s passing without saying anything and passing my sympathy. I absolutely loved Uncle Joseph and what was there not to love. He loved company and I remember hearing of tourists at the hotel going over to see Uncle Joseph milk the cows. I’m sure they got a unique host that had entertained them.
Uncle Joseph I would say was a jovial kind person with a big heart. I never saw him aggressive or mean-spirited. He was happy go lucky and lucky that he met you (Nolly). So many experiences that are special.
I would think that one of those special experiences was when you all went on an overseas trip together. I don’t know whose idea it was but I’m sure it was a wonderful time that you can reflect on.
A time I remember was when Mum and Barry had some sort of swanky event on Barry’s boat. Uncle Joseph’s equilibrium wasn’t the greatest so Mum worried about him falling in the ocean walking the jetty. More so on the way back. That aside I saw Uncle Joseph all dressed up nice on the boat. He was checking his pockets. I said “What are you doing Uncle Jose?” He told me that he had cut out newspaper articles of the day so when he couldn’t think of conversation he would refer to an article. I thought that was pretty cool.
I can think of other stories too and hopefully one day we can share them verbally.
There will always be a place in my heart for Uncle Jose as there is for all of you.
Thinking of you all.
Love
Chris and Di
