Passed away peacefully on July 14, 2018 at Allan Bryant Hokitika.
Beloved husband of the late Kay, much loved father and father in-law of Lynda, Jim, Jen, Bob and Stacey. Loved brother of Thomas and the late Peg, Lou, Maureen, Malcolm, and Beatrice. Treasured and much loved poppa of his 11 grandchildren and 5 great grand children. Loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
Herb will travel to his late home in Jacobs River where family and friends are welcome to visit.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to St John can be made at the service.
A service to celebrate Herb’s life will be held at the Bruce Bay Hall on Thursday July 19 at 1pm. At the conclusion of the service Herb will return to Hokitika for a graveside service the following day, Friday July 20 at 1pm.

As i can not make it home in time for the service wich is just tearing me apart please accept my apologies and know that my love and thoughts are with u all. A sad farewell to a great old time friend.
Our family have wonderful memories of the times spent with the Rochford families in Jacobs River. Whitebait, beer, cook ups, cards and plenty of laughter with Herbie, are fond memories.
When you lose someone you love it leaves a big hole in your heart.

A great man always with a pocket full of lollies, we have fond memories of the good days at Jacobs and all the times he picked me up at Bruce Bay and took me up to Nana and Pops to stay on the truck!
