My condolences to the family of Bruce Smith, I am very sorry to learn of his passing , whilst I did not know him personally or for long, but through his tireless efforts to enlighten people NZ wide about the divisive water Bill being prepared, all thinking NZ owe him their gratitude for what he exposed. It is Folk of his calibre that deserve NZ highest honours. Jenny, and Whanau, you have lost a Totara in your garden, from small beginnings he grew to attempt anything in business, that a hand and mind would dream of achieving, yes we all saw the times that the trunk grew beyond belief, then got battered and Bruced, but still stood tall and thought well I had a go at it “Que Sera Sera”. Most of all in the last few years was the ability to showcase his and our special place we call home, his way of making the most closed shop person open up and understand what it is to be a “Westcoaster” during interviews, was better than anybody in mainstream media sensationalism. Rest easy you have carved your stance, and timeline in the tree. Dave.
