Passed away on Wednesday September 27, 2023, while chilling out at his home in Blue Spur, aged 82 years. Loved husband of the late Fay, father and father-in-law of Peter and Karen (Mahana, Nelson), Robyn and James Bromley (Greymouth) and Yvonne and Glenn Kidd (Auckland). Grandad of Indigo and Safari, Tyson and Logon, Madison, Chloe and Tyler and his great-grandchildren, Finn and Oliver. A service for Martin will be held at the Hokitika Fire Station, Stafford Street, Hokitika on Monday 2nd October, commencing at 1.30pm, following the service Martin will be laid to rest with his wife Fay in the Lawn Section of the Hokitika Cemetery.
Members of the New Zealand Fire Service & Fire and Emergency New Zealand, both serving and retired, are requested to attend the funeral of Life Honorary Member, retired Station Officer Martin Muir, Hokitika Volunteer Fire Brigade, 1962 – 1982. The service will be held at the Hokitika Fire Station, Stafford Street, Hokitika, om Monday October 2 commencing at 1.30pm. Burial in the Hokitika Cemetery to follow. Serving members, full undress uniform with caps please.
