Dearly loved and cherished wife of Kris, adored and proud mother and mother-in-law of Brett and Sophie, loved daughter of Carole, loved sister of Tracy, Chris, and Gareth, loved daughter-in-law of Lorraine (deceased) and David, and Rex and Trudy, loved sister-in-law, aunty, cousin and friend. “God needed an angel, so he called upon you. A Service to celebrate Leanne’s life will be held in the Hokitika Fire Station, Stafford Street, Hokitika, on Wednesday, June 18, commencing at 1.30pm followed by cremation here on the Coast at the Westland Crematorium. For friends and family wishing to pay their respects, Leanne will be at the Riverside Chapel, Thompson’s Funeral Directors, 88 Gibson Quay on Monday. The family would love for you to wear Leanne’s favourite colour purple to the service.

Oh grief I am broken hearted to read this very sad news. I met Leanne at the medical centre when she had broken her arm – just a school girl and there was just something very special about her. I have always enjoyed running into her and so pleased I caught up with her when I was down whitebaiting. Stu and I have been reminiscing about the fun times we had with Leanne on and off the badminton court. She used to play mixed doubles with Stu. And I fondly remember her watching Brett and Holly take out the Open Mixed Doubles title as underdogs, and winning. Leanne cried tears of joy. She was so proud! In the supermarket she always had a ready smile. She would ask after Holly and Alex and I after Brett. Gone way to early. Rest in peace Leanne, you will not be forgotten. Love to you all.
