Bruce Gerard Davidson

On Monday, April 1, 2025, at Burwood Hospital, Christchurch, aged 69 years. Respected partner of Julie-Ann, cherished Dad of Neve, loved son of the late George and Alison, loved brother and brother-in-law of Alan, Paul and Sharon, (all of Hokitika), Noel and Mony (Gold Coast), Marie and Franco (Rome), Gordon, (Hokitika), Mark and Michelle (Gold Coast), and the late Suzie, a genuine friend of the Syron family, best friend of the O’Donnell Clan, loved uncle, cousin and friend. “Bruce walked through the fog of dementia for many years, with the support of family and friends, now at peace”. A service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held in All Saints Church, 57 Bealey Street, Hokitika, on Monday, April 7, commencing at 1.30pm. Private cremation to follow. Please wear bright colours or a rugby jersey.

    Spent many hours chatting to this amazing man at rugby clubs in my youth.
    He was a perfectionist at his job and well respected.
    He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

    Wow, what sad news, Julie-Ann, Neve and families, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to you all at this time. In his healthier days he was a great rugby player and tradesman with a good sense of humour. Often stopping fir a chat and laugh as he walked the dog. His Illness was a cruel blow to Bruce, yourselves , all who knew him, Eternal Rest Bruce

    Since my youth I have never heard a bad word said of Bruce and there would be few I could say that about. You were a good man Bruce, enjoyed your company immensely. RIP.

      Condolences to Bruce’s family. I used to love discussing the Coast with Bruce when I was visiting at Victoria. It was great to talk about the past. Plus he loved the music and dancing.
      It’s a horrible disease.

Bruce was always a ray of sunshine and definitely passed down his smiles and cheerfulness to Neve. I’m so thankful I got to know Bruce early in my life, may he rest in peace. ❤️
