My sincere condolences to Peter, Robert, Leanne and families.
Cliff left a mark on the coast and in my life, he never did anything for you he always believed in giving a Hand Up rather than a Hand Out. I needed firewood one day and he said “right get your old clothes on and come with me.” We went bush and he had me lugging rings of green rata, which had supposedly already been on the ground when he found it, out of the bush for what seemed like miles, onto the ute and unloaded it on my yard. I stared at it for days moaning about having to chop all those rings. Cliff said I should just chop one. It took a couple more days to think about that one! I chopped one then two three and four! Cliff drove past and saw me chopping and came in to give me a hand. We got it all done and stacked in no time. He was rough around the edges, but a heart of gold.
RIP my firend
