Alton James (Jimmy) Grant

May 3, 2022

Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday 3rd May 2022.  Loved husband of Shirley, loved father of Murray and Gail, (Tauranga), Kelvin and Shirley, and Sylvia and Wayne Thompson (all of Hokitika).  Loved grandad Jimmy of Leana, Sarah, Carla, Hamish, Katie, and Chris and a loved great-grandad of his nine great-grandchildren.  Loved brother and brother-in-law of Raymond and Yvonne, Veller, Bill and Sandra, and the late Jeanette.  “Off on his last bike ride”  Messages to the Grant Family 124 Davie Street, Hokitika 7810 or may be left on Jimmy’s Tribute Page, www.thompsonfd.co.nz.  Following Jimmy’s wishes, a family service has been held followed by cremation.

      Sorry to hear of Jimmy’s passing, my condolences to all family members, saw him out Kokatahi biking last week I think it was, as a kid growing up in Waitaha Jimmy was always known as the bulldozer driver and drove big bulldozers, well they seemed big to us at the time.
      RIP Jimmy you are an identity that will be hard to replace.
